Data migration

Move clean, validated data — not just files.

Migration needs ownership of source data, clear transformation rules, and reconciliation. The goal is a controlled opening position, not just a successful import message.

What's included

What we can review and deliver

01

Scope and templates

Decide what moves, how much history, and in which format.

02

Master data cleansing

Items, customers, suppliers, and accounts reviewed for duplicates and gaps.

03

Opening balances

Ledger, open documents, and stock values with a clear cut-off.

04

Loading

Data Transfer Workbench or scripted loads, tested before the live run.

05

Reconciliation

Counts and balances matched back to the legacy system.

06

Sign-off

Business owners confirm the opening position before go-live.

Working principle

The business owns its data. We provide structure, tools, and checks — and we do not load anything into production that has not been reconciled in a test run.

When this helps

Signs it is time to look at this

  • You are implementing SAP Business One or merging companies.
  • Master data has duplicates, inconsistent codes, or missing fields.
  • Opening balances did not reconcile after a previous migration.
  • You need to add a new company or branch with existing history.
How we approach it

A controlled sequence, not guesswork

  1. Agree the scopeObjects, history, cut-off date, and owners.
  2. Clean and transformFix the data at the source wherever possible.
  3. Trial loadsLoad to a test company and reconcile.
  4. Final loadRepeat the tested process and sign off.
Questions

Common questions

How much history should we migrate?

Usually open documents and balances, with history kept accessible in the old system. More history is possible, but it adds cost and risk, so we decide it with you.

Who prepares the data?

Your team owns the source data; we provide templates, transformation rules, and validation checks, and handle the loading.

Can you migrate from any legacy system?

If the data can be exported in a structured format, yes. The effort depends on how clean and complete the export is.

Start with context

Show us the process, the problem, and the expected result.

For an existing system, include the SAP Business One version, database platform, affected process, and a sample if available. For new work, share the scope and key business requirements.
